Rev. Doug Jolly has been the Senior Pastor of South Brookley UMC since the summer of 2007. He grew up the son of an Air Force pilot, was born overseas in West Germany, and has traveled and lived in a lot of different places, but feels very “at home” on the Gulf Coast. Doug received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies from Asbury University, a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, and has been serving as an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church for 20 years. He is a “tentmaking” (bi-vocational) pastor who works two extra jobs to avoid being a financial burden on the church. He and his wife Bethany have been married for 25 years, and they have two adult children – Rebecca, who lives and works in Fredericksburg, VA with her husband Jon, and Michael who lives at home and is an electricial apprentice. In what little spare time he has, Doug enjoys reading, playing guitar and drums, running, biking, and being outdoors. He will answer to “Reverend Doug”, “Pastor Doug” and “Brother Doug”, but really prefers it when you just call him “Doug”!
Tina Stalmach has been the Church Pianist at South Brookley UMC since April 1991. She began her music instruction at the young age of 6 and continued through high school and college. As a student, Tina participated annually in piano recitals and the Mobile Music Teachers Association Sonata Contest under the tutelage of Ruth Chamberlain, Rita Wright and Joan Hauser. Tina also played regularly for VBS, children’s and youth choirs/ensembles, Sunday school classes and church services at Moffett Road Baptist Church. After graduating from high school, Tina was accepted at the University of South Alabama and was the recipient of the John H. Chester Music Scholarship. She continued her music studies under the direction of Dr. Edward Daniel (piano) and Dr. Val Early (organ). She finished with a BS in Human Resources Management with a minor concentration in Piano Performance. Prior to joining the staff at South Brookley UMC, Tina served as pianist/organist at Moffett Road Baptist Church, Riverside Baptist Church, Fulton Road Baptist Church, and Central Baptist Church. Tina has been married to Frank Stalmach for over 25 years. She enjoys reading, USA Jaguar and Alabama football, and spending time with her family.
